58-year-old Belleview pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash

A 58-year-old Belleview woman was killed early Monday morning when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching for a Dodge Durango SUV similar to the ones pictured above that were involved in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning in Belleview.

The woman was hit by a SUV that was traveling west on 112th Street Rd. The woman, whose body came to rest on the south shoulder of the roadway, was pronounced dead by paramedics from Marion County Fire Rescue, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.

The driver of the SUV fled the scene heading west on S.E. 112th Street Rd. The vehicle involved in the crash is believed to be a dark gray or silver 2018-20 Dodge Durango that may have damage to its front end or hood, the FHP report states.
