Oft-arrested Ocala man jailed again after fight with two women

Scott Lamar Dailey

A 54-year-old Ocala man with an extensive arrest history is accused of battering two women and pouring Gatorade on one of them during an altercation last week.

Scott Lamar Dailey, 54, was charged with two counts of battery (second or subsequent offense) after the incident, which happened around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Marion County Jail records show Dailey has been locked up 26 times since 1991. Previous charges include numerous domestic battery incidents as well as felony battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, grand theft of a motor vehicle, petit theft, forgery, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, driving with a suspended license, and a multitude of probation violations.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that she and her friend arrived home and Dailey came outside yelling and threatening to beat her up. She said he told Dailey he needs to leave and walked past him into her house. The victim said Dailey said, “I’m not going anywhere,” and followed her inside, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said while they were in the living room, Dailey grabbed her by the hair and threw Gatorade at her. She said Dailey then left the residence, but when she tried to close the door behind him, he turned around and pushed it back open and hit her in the face, causing her glasses to fall, the report said.

The victim said Dailey broke their front door during the altercation and left prior to the deputy’s arrival. The deputy observed the victim’s hair was slightly wet from Gatorade and there was Gatorade on the floor in the living room. The deputy observed the front door had numerous dents and the door frame was broken and splintered, according to the report.

The second victim said she saw Dailey grab the first victim by the hair and pull Gatorade on her. She said he was yelling, “I’ll kill you bitch,” as he was battering the victim. The second victim said Dailey intentionally pushed her out of the way with his right shoulder as he left the residence. The deputy did not observe any injuries on the second victim, the report said.

Another deputy located Dailey at a location that was redacted from the report. After being read his Miranda warning, Dailey denied hitting either victim or throwing Gatorade. He said he broke the front door to the residence because the victim locked him out. He said he did spill Gatorade on the floor earlier in the day but never threw it at anyone, according to the report.

Dailey was released from jail Saturday on $1,000 bond. He will appear in Marion County Court on Oct. 20.
