A pedestrian was killed late Monday afternoon on County Road 42 in Marion County.
The incident took place at about 5:14 p.m. when a 57-year-old Ocala man driving a van hit the male pedestrian just east of S.E. 182nd Avenue Rd. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.
The crash remains under investigation by FHP traffic homicide investigators.
