City hosting ‘Programs in the Parks’ educational series

The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks department will host a “Programs in the Parks” educational series beginning later this week.

The series, which is free to attend, will take attendees through Heritage Nature Conservancy and Tuscawilla Park on tours of some of the various features.
The first program, which takes place on Friday, Sept. 25, will start at 10 a.m. at the Heritage Nature Conservancy, located at 2005 N.E. Third Street. A park ranger will teach those in attendance about bats and the bat house in the park that many call home.

6 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Owls and Bats

Friday, Oct. 16
10 a.m. to 11 a.m. – Leave No Trace
Tuscawilla Park (800 NE Sanchez Avenue)

Friday, Nov. 13
10 a.m. to 11 a.m. – One Man’s Trash isn’t an Animal’s Dinner
Tuscawilla Park (800 NE Sanchez Avenue)

All programs are available to children and adults of all ages.
