The Ocala Wetland Recharge Park opened its doors to the public earlier this week.
The park, which is located at 2105 NW 21st Street, is a project multiple years in the making. Although a grand opening celebration was planned for last summer, a sinkhole forced park officials to delay the opening.
In July 2019, two separate sinkholes resulted in over 2.5 million gallons of reuse water spilling at the park, causing further delays.
The Ocala Wetland Recharge park features a collection of trails, paths, and winding boardwalks that all take visitors on a zig-zag journey through the park.
Walking trails along all sides of the park allow for great views the of plants and wildlife that call the park home.
Some of the trails are named for the associated wildlife that you may encounter, including Snail, Alligator, and Frog Loops.
The park is open from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. Read more about the park through the City of Ocala Wetland Recharge Park webpage.
