A 76-year-old Ocala man was arrested after he admitted to slapping his adult son in the face because he won’t be disrespected in his own house.
Ramgadoo K. Naraidoo, of SW 129th Street, was charged with simple domestic battery after the incident, which happened in the early morning hours Wednesday.
The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy he and Naraidoo were arguing about the victim’s wife and Naraidoo was highly intoxicated and belligerent. He said Naraidoo slapped him in the face. The victim said he grabbed Naraidoo in defense and told him not to hit him again, according to the sheriff’s office report.
A witness told the deputy that Naraidoo and the victim had been drinking throughout the night and fell asleep. She said Naraidoo woke up and walked to the victim’s room to wake him up so they could continue to drink, the report said.
The witness said Naraidoo was upset with the victim about who he married and this started the argument. She said Naraidoo slapped the victim during the during the argument, and the victim grabbed him so he couldn’t hit him again, according to the report.
The deputy then spoke with Naraidoo, who willingly said before any questioning that he was arguing with the victim and slapped him in the face because this was house and he would not be disrespected, the report said.
Naraidoo was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released Thursday on $500 bond. He will appear in Marion County Court on Nov. 11.
