Ocklawaha man caught driving without license again

An Ocklawaha man with two prior arrests this year was jailed again Thursday after he was caught driving without a license for the fifth time.

Donald Russell Jones, 41, of 17411 SE 66th St., was charged with driving without a license (third or subsequent offense) and bond violations. He was previously arrested on Aug. 24 on charged of battering a person 65 or older and criminal mischief, and he was charged in June with aggravated child abuse and criminal mischief, according to Marion County Jail records.

In the latest incident, a Marion County sheriff’s deputy saw Jones driving a black Dodge Dakota pickup driving west on SE 66th Street had personal knowledge Jones didn’t have a license. A records search confirmed four prior convictions for driving with a suspended or revoked license, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Jones was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was being held on $5,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Marion County Jail on Oct. 27.
