Speeding Crystal River man nabbed on drug charge after traffic stop

Zachary Michael Walsh

A Crystal River man was jailed late Tuesday night after allegedly driving recklessly on State Road 200 at speeds above 100 mph.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy stopped a brown Ford SUV driven by 19-year-old Zachary Michael Walsh in the 8400 block of SR 200. Walsh gave the deputy permission to search his vehicle and he found a folded up $10 bill with powder cocaine inside it, a sheriff’s office report states.

Walsh was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with possession of cocaine and reckless driving. He was released early Thursday morning on $3,000 bond and is due in court Nov. 10 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
