Ocala woman jailed after attack on boyfriend’s disabled mother

Shaina McBee

An Ocala woman was arrested after she allegedly battered her boyfriend’s disabled mother and sent her to the hospital.

Shaina McBee, 27, of Water Track Drive, was charged with abuse of an elderly or disabled adult without great harm after the incident, which happened around 7:30 a.m. Monday.

McBee told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that she and her boyfriend’s mother were in an argument and at first said it was not physical. However, she later said the victim grabbed her by the wrist. The deputy did not see any redness or injuries on McBee’s skin, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim, who said she is 100 percent disabled, has a port inserted in her chest and throat. She said during the argument, McBee kicked her in the upper-left chest area, right where the port is, and she was having pain in her chest and neck. The deputy observed redness around where the victim was kicked, and the victim was taken by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center, the report said.

McBee’s boyfriend, who is the victim’s son, said he witnessed the verbal argument and saw McBee lunge towards the victim and kick her in her upper chest. Another witness said he also saw McBee kick the victim during the argument, according to the report.

McBee was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she is being held on $2,000 bond. No court information was available.
