22-year-old Ocala man killed after crashing into guardrail

A 22-year-old Ocala man was killed early Friday morning after crashing into a guardrail.

The man had been driving a sport utility vehicle at 12:50 a.m. when he collided with the guardrail which is situated at the end of NE 28th Lane near Ray Wayside Park in Silver Springs, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

After striking the guardrail the vehicle began to overturn and struck a palm tree. It then went on to strike a second small tree.

The man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. He landed in a nearby body of water.  He was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue.
