Hudson man jailed after found slumped over steering wheel of vehicle

Justin Maurice Taylor

A Hudson man was jailed recently after he was found slumped over the wheel of his vehicle in the parking lot of discount store.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was conducting a security check at the Family Dollar store on S.W. 56th Lane when he found 36-year-old Justin Maurice Taylor in the vehicle. He made several attempts to wake Taylor before he responded, a sheriff’s office report states.

The deputy observed several needles and a white powdery substance in plain view, which ultimately field tested positive for heroin. Taylor was then placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. He was released on $7,000 bond and his next court date hasn’t yet been set, jail records show.
