Patricia Joan Kuhel

Patricia Joan Kuhel

Patricia Joan Kuhel, 85 resident of Ocala, FL, entered heaven’s gates October 18,2020 peacefully with her daughter Liane by her side.

Pat entered this world January 26, 1935 full of fire and sass (not much had changed, even on her final day) She was born in Chicago IL, raised by Katherine and Lester Dryer with her partner in crime Connie Dryer (sister)

At the age of 12 pats love for horses guided her to purchasing her very first horse strawberry, with money she had saved up from babysitting, on a family vacation. To her mother’s dismay, Strawberry was delivered to their two flat homes in Chicago. After Strawberries’ surprising arrival, Pat’s mother told her, she would need a job to earn money to pay for Strawberries bored and keep. So pat, being as clever as she was. Forged her birth certificate to work at the famous Aragon Ballroom. She swears that Frank Sinatra would not be who he was, if it wasn’t for her giving him a shot of bourbon and telling him to get on with the show.

Just like her life’s mantra “the show must go on” not much would get in her way of living life to the fullest with a beautiful hand bag and beefeater martini (with LOTS of green olives) in hand.

At the age of 18 Pat, Married her Late husband Richard Kuhel, a decorated world war 2 veteran. They spent 42 years raising their 3 children.

In 1982 Pats dream came true. She purchased her first farm in Monee IL, known as “Ma’s Place” Where she spent her days riding her white warmblood Strider, in her beautiful indoor arena. Her love for riding continued to the age of 85, she was a proud student of Marion County therapeutic riding center Ocala, FL.

She was survived by her children Laurence Kuhel, Mary Kay Tewes and Liane Davis. Grandchildren Annie Willhemi, Danny Tewes, Meagan Simpson, Christopher Davis, Andrea Davis-Nance, and Shannon Davis. Great Grandchildren Avery Willhemi, Claire Tewes, Olivia Simpson, Charlotte Tewes, Audriana Nance, and her beloved dog Mazie.

A devout Roman Catholic, Pats visitation will be held Friday October 23, 2020 from 5-7pm at Roberts Bruce Funeral Home West, 6241 SW State Road 200, Ocala, FL, 34476. Funeral mass will be held October 24th 8:30 AM, Queen Of Peace Catholic Church, 6455 SW State Road 200, Ocala, FL 34476.
