The vehicle of Ocala Police Chief Greg Graham has been positioned outside of the Ocala Police Department Headquarters as a memorial in honor of the late chief.
Graham, who lost his life on Sunday morning after the plane he was piloting crashed, used the vehicle while he served as chief for the city, a role he held for 8 years.
The memorial is open to all those in the public seeking to pay their respects to the late chief, who was a member of the Ocala Police Department for all but four years since 1983.
As news of the crash spread, thousands of local residents, colleagues, and city officials mourned the loss of Graham.
“The family of Chief Greg Graham, Ocala Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office and all who knew Chief Graham experienced a tragedy today,” said Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods in a statement on Sunday afternoon pledging. “Right now, the focus is to assist his family and his family in blue who are impacted by his sudden and tragic loss.”
“An incredibly tragic day for Ocala. Please pray and send comforting thoughts to the entire Graham family,” wrote Ocala City Councilmember Matthew Wardell through a brief statement on his Facebook page.
For those who would like to pay their respects to the late chief, Ocala Police Department Headquarters is located at 402 S Pine Avenue.
