Edmund Joseph Barry Sr., 84, of Ocala passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. He was born July 24, 1936 the son of the late William Thomas and Mary Catherine Barry. Edmund was a native of Morris Plains, New Jersey and was one of 15 children. He married the love of his life, Emma, on October 11, 1958 and together the two shared 62 years of love and happiness.
Ed spent 35 years with New Jersey Bell, many years on the Budd Lake Fire Department, served in the National Guard and volunteered for several organizations in the past 15 years. In addition, Ed was a self-made handyman and could fix just about anything for anyone.
Survivors include wife, Emma; children Diane, Wendy, Ed Jr. and Darlene, and their spouses; nine grandchildren and by many of his brothers and sisters. Ed is predeceased by his daughter, Eileen.
Per the family’s request, services for Edmund will remain private at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice Center of Marion County or Queen of Peace.
