Citra woman accused of keying ‘whore’ onto man’s car

Sarah Lou Taylor

A Citra woman admitted she sent text messages to a man telling him to keep an eye on his vehicle, but she denied keying the word “whore” onto it.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies responding Oct. 24 to a report of criminal mischief at a residence on NE 44th Avenue observed a blue Mercury Marquis driving eastbound East Highway 316 towards Fort McCoy. The blonde female driver matched the suspect’s description and the vehicle matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The deputies conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, Sarah Lou Taylor, 39, of NE 166th Place. Taylor said she was coming home from her residence. She said she had gone home to feed her animals and hadn’t been at her residence longer than 15 minutes, the report said.

Another deputy went to the incident location, where the victim said his vehicle would need a new paint job due to about $800 in damage caused when the word, “whore,” was scratched into the hood and two side passenger doors. The victim said he came outside to see Taylor walking away from his vehicle with keys in her hand. He said Taylor got into her vehicle and sped off, according to the report.

Taylor said she confronted the victim about sleeping with other women. She said she sent him a message making statements about watching his vehicle and the marks on it, but she said marks she was referring to were from a previous incident, the report said.

Taylor allowed the deputy to see the messages where she made the statements about the victim needing to watch his vehicle. She also messaged the victim saying he was a “whore,” according to the report.

After being read her Miranda warning, Taylor said she didn’t see any marks on the victim’s vehicle and denied all allegations of vandalizing it. She said the victim is not the most liked man in the neighborhood and doesn’t understand why she is being accused, the report said.

Taylor was charged with criminal mischief and issued a notice to appear in Marion County Court on Nov. 4, which she acknowledged with her signature.
