Fort McCoy man with outstanding warrants nabbed after spotted by deputy

Richard Allen Snow

A Fort McCoy man was jailed recently after he was spotted by a Marion County sheriff’s deputy who knew he had an outstanding warrant.

The deputy attempted to stop a blue Honda Civic on E. Hwy. 316 that was being driven by 41-year-old Richard Allen Snow, who had an active warrant for theft and a suspended driver’s license. Snow fled from the deputy and a short pursuit was initiated, a sheriff’s office report states.

Snow eventually stopped his vehicle and was placed under arrest. While searching Snow, the deputy found methamphetamine in his pocket, the report says.

Snow was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with fleeing/eluding a law enforcement officer at a high rate of speed, driving while license suspended (habitual offender) and possession of methamphetamine. He also was charged with outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court on a past charge of driving while license revoked as a habitual offender and contempt of court on a felony petit theft charge.

Snow was being held $12,000 bond on the new charges and no bond on the past charges. He’s due in court Dec. 1 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charges.
