New hotel reserving parking spaces in Ocala downtown parking garage

Monday, May 10, 2021

The free parking spaces available in Ocala’s Downtown Parking Garage were reduced this past week when the new hotel’s parking lease with the city began.

Hilton Garden Inn (120 E Silver Springs Blvd), which began operating its terrace restaurant and bar recently, is leasing a collection of reserved spaces in the city’s parking garage for its guests and customers.

Reserved signs appeared on the spaces this past Friday during the city’s popular Art Walk event.

The Downtown Parking Garage, which opened its doors a little over four years ago, previously offered over 100 parking spaces to the public before the change. According to the city’s website, there are over 1,600 public parking spaces managed by Downtown Parking officials.

Recently, the city began once again collecting fees for metered parking, after having temporarily postponed collection during the first six months after the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For more information on the city’s parking, visit the city of Ocala Downtown Parking webpage.
