An Ocala man was jailed recently after being accused of firing a weapon during a road rage incident.

Dominique Brown, 25, was arrested last week in the 6000 block of N.W. Gainesville Road. The incident took place in the 1700 block of S.W. Hwy. 200 when Brown allegedly threw a Gatorade bottle at a victim and then fired a single round from a firearm out of his vehicle, an Ocala Police report states, adding that several people in the area witnessed the incident.

During a traffic stop, Brown was found to be in possession of a stolen handgun and cocaine, the report says. He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail.

Brown was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of cocaine. He was released on $17,000 bond and his next court date hasn’t yet been set, jail records show.
