Homeless woman jailed for trespassing at Silver Springs Circle K

Tracy Rutledge

A 31-year-old homeless woman spent the weekend in jail after being charged with trespassing at a Circle K store in Silver Springs.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to the store, located at 16788 E. Hwy. 40, at around 4:30 p.m. Thursday after being informed that Tracy Ann Rutledge had returned. The store manager previously had Rutledge trespassed at around 10 a.m. because she was being verbally abusive to employees, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The deputy observed Rutledge walking in the parking lot and placed her under arrest for violating the trespass. She invoked her Miranda warning and declined to speak to the deputy, the report said.

Rutledge was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was scheduled to be released upon the completion of her sentence at 9 a.m. Monday.
