Ocala man accused of road rage incident back behind bars after warrant arrest

Dominique G. Brown

An Ocala man who was arrested earlier this month in connection with a road rage incident is back in jail.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 25-year-old Dominique G. Brown on Wednesday afternoon on an outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of cocaine.

Brown’s bond also was revoked on a contempt of court charge connected to a previous charge of driving while license suspended or revoked (second or subsequent offense). He is being held on no bond and his next court date hasn’t yet been set, jail records show.

Brown also was arrested Nov. 4 after being accused of firing a weapon during a road rage incident. The incident took place in the 1700 block of S.W. Hwy. 200 when Brown allegedly threw a Gatorade bottle at a victim and then fired a single round from a firearm out of his vehicle, an Ocala Police report states, adding that several people in the area witnessed the incident.

During a traffic stop, Brown was found to be in possession of a stolen handgun and cocaine, the report says. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was released the next day on $17,000 bond.
