Traffic signals being removed along Magnolia Avenue in Ocala

The City of Ocala Engineering Department is removing traffic signals along Magnolia Avenue.

Signals are flashing red and all-way stop signs are being added to the following intersection approaches:

  • Fort King and South Magnolia – stop signs will be in place for southbound, eastbound and westbound traffic;
  • Broadway and South Magnolia – stop signs will be in place for southbound and eastbound traffic;
  • N.W./N.E. Third Street and North Magnolia – stop signs will be in place for southbound, eastbound, and westbound traffic; and
  • N.E. Third Street and N.E. First Avenue – stop signs will be in place for northbound, eastbound and westbound traffic.

These signals will stay in flash mode for 90 days.  After 90 days, the signals and traffic poles will be removed.  Basic stop sign control will remain for approaching motorists.  Message boards and necessary devices will be in place to notify drivers of the new traffic pattern.
