A woman was arrested Monday night after she allegedly grabbed and hit a man while he was holding a child during a domestic spat.
The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that he and 21-year-old Jessica Amber Jackson, of Umatilla, were in a verbal argument when she grabbed his left forearm forcefully. He said Jackson hit him in the back and side, but due to her size, probably did not leave any marks. The deputy observed a light red mark on the victim’s left bicep, according to the sheriff’s office report.
Jackson told the deputy that she and the victim got into an argument over her talking to her new boyfriend on the phone She said the victim was holding a child during the argument and the child started to cry, the report said.
Jackson said she wanted to leave and go next door to her parents’ home, but the victim was holding the child. She said she became frustrated and admitted grabbing the victim’s arm to get the child away from him. The deputy read Jackson her Miranda warning and she refused to answer any further questions, according to the report.
Jackson was charged with simple domestic battery and taken to the Marion County Jail. She was released Tuesday on $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on Jan. 6, 2021.
