Porn-watching Silver Springs man accused of pulling knife on woman

Walter Kenneth Morse

A Silver Springs man is accused of pulling a knife on a woman who confronted him about watching pornography.

Walter Kenneth Morse, 48, was charged Saturday with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. He has more than a dozen prior arrests in Marion County dating back to 1991 and was convicted of simple battery in December 2017.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy the argument started when Morse was watching pornography and she asked him if he was a pedophile due to the type of porn it was. She said she was sitting at the kitchen table when Morse became irate and grabbed an 8-inch kitchen knife with a white handle, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said Morse walked behind her with the knife and put it to her neck, touching her skin with his right hand. She said he told her, “I would strangle you,” while the knife was near her neck. The victim said she was in fear for her life due to the knife being so close to her neck. Multiple witnesses corroborated her statements, the report said.

Morse was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail, where he’s being held on $5,000 bond. He will appear in Marion County Court on Dec. 22.
