A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded Sunday to All Southern Lawn and Landscaping, 6191 S. Pine Ave., where the owner reported the following items missing: a 2012 black Dodge Ram 3500 Dually four-door valued at $37,000, a 1998 white Dodge Ram 3500 Dually single cab valued at $13,000, a 2000 white Dodge Ram 3500 Dually single cab with an aluminum flat bed valued at $6,000, a 2013 black 16-foot enclosed trailer with All Southern Lawn and Landscape stickers valued at $3,500, and a 16-foot open trailer with expanded metal tool box on the front and weed eater racks on both sides.

The victim said inside the enclosed trailer were two zero-turn lawn mowers valued at $16,000. He said the last time the stolen items were seen was about 9:30 a.m. Saturday. They were noticed missing around 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Deputies found the stolen 2012 Dodge truck in the parking lot of the Lucky Panda Internet Cafe, 14355 S. U.S. Hwy. 441 in Summerfield, with Murphy in the driver’s seat. After being read his Miranda warning, Murphy admitted to stealing the vehicle. He said he then contacted Davis and Thrasher, and the three of them went back and stole the other trucks and the trailers. Murphy said he was going to sell them and make money, the report said.

Deputies found the stolen 2000 Dodge truck at around the 6500 block SE 183rd Avenue. Thrasher was behind the wheel, while Davis and another male were passengers. All three were taken to the South Multi-District Office to be interviewed, according to the report.

In a post-Miranda interview, Davis admitted going to the incident location with Thrasher and Murphy and stealing the 2002 Dodge truck, the 1998 Dodge truck and the two trailers. He said he was asked to be involved by Thrasher. Davis admitted he painted the enclosed trailer with yellow paint, and he had yellow paint on his clothing, the report said.

After being read her Miranda rights, Thrasher admitted to going to the incident location with Davis and Murphy to steal the two trucks and two trailers. She said Murphy was going to sell the items and split the money with them, according to the report.

Murphy and Davis are each being held in the Marion County Jail on $15,000 bond. Thrasher is being held on $13,000 bond. All three will appear in Marion County Court on Jan. 5, 2021.
