223 COVID-19 cases reported at 19 Marion County long-term care facilities

A total of 223 residents and staff members at Marion County long-term care facilities have tested positive for the potentially deadly COVID-19 virus.

That’s according to a report released Thursday from the Florida Department of Health. The report doesn’t identify when the positive tests were recorded but shows a clear snapshot of the how the number of cases in assisted living facilities and nursing homes is continuing to increase across Florida.

The cases were identified at 19 facilities throughout Marion County. They were broken down as 65 residents, 112 residents who transferred out of the care centers and 46 employees, the report shows.

The facilities located in Marion County that were listed in the report, as well as the number of residents and employees who have tested positive, include:

  • Avante of Ocala Inc. (19 residents and 48 residents who transferred out of the facility);
  • Brentwood at Fore Ranch (two residents who transferred out of the facility);
  • Bridgewater Park Assisted Living (one resident who transferred out of the facility);
  • Bridgewater Park Health & Rehabilitation Center (one employee);
  • Brookdale Canopy Oaks (24 residents who transferred out of the facility and nine employees);
  • Brookdale Paddock Hills (one employee);
  • Chatham Glen Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in The Villages (17 residents, 12 residents who transferred out of the facility and two employees);
  • Hampton ALF at 24th Road LLC (four employees);
  • Hampton ALF at Belleview (three residents who transferred out of the facility);
  • Hawthorne Health and Rehab of Ocala (three residents who transferred out of the facility);
  • Life Care Center of Ocala (14 residents and seven employees);
  • Oakhurst Center (eight residents who transferred out of the facility and 15 employees);
  • Ocala Health and Rehabilitation Center (seven residents and three employees);
  • Ocala Oaks Rehabilitation Center (seven residents and three employees);
  • Prestige Manor III (one employee);
  • The Club Health and Rehabilitation Center at The Villages (two residents who transferred out of the facility);
  • The Harmony House of Ocala (six residents who transferred out of the facility);
  • The Lodge Health and Rehabilitation Center (three residents who transferred out of the facility and two employees); and
  • Timber Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (two residents).
