Ocklawaha woman arrested after asking deputies for wallet with meth in it

Kristine Sue Murdock

A small amount of methamphetamine was found in a wallet that an Ocklawaha woman asked deputies to bring to jail with her.

A pair of Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded Wednesday night to an unrelated service call at 3621 SE 174th Court, where it was confirmed through teletype that a resident – 36-year-old Kristine Sue Murdock – had an extraditable warrant out of Volusia County for failure to appear in court, according to the sheriff’s office report.

During a search connected to the arrest, Murdock asked deputies bring her wallet to the jail with her. Murdock’s boyfriend handed them the wallet and she confirmed it was hers. A search of the wallet revealed a small plastic bag containing a small amount of a white crystal substance, the report said.

The substance tested positive for methamphetamine. Murdock said she found the small baggy on the side of the road and didn’t know what it was. Murdoc said she forgot it was still in her wallet, according to the report.

Murdock is being held on $2,000 bond. No court information was available.
