Firefighters from Marion County and Ocala battled a structure fire Thursday night at a local car lot.

61-year-old Ocala pedestrian killed on County Road 464

A 61-year-old pedestrian was killed Tuesday night in Marion County.

The incident took place on County Road 464 east of Water Road shortly before 6:30 p.m. when the pedestrian, of Ocala, was walking in the inside lane of the roadway. He was struck by a sedan being driven by a 20-year-old Ocala man, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP report says.
