Summerfield man charged with trespassing at Silver Springs Circle K

Jorge Isaac Cruz-Garcia

A 30-year-old Summerfield man jailed last summer for shoplifting a beer at a Belleview gas station was arrested Tuesday night when he returned to a Circle K in Silver Springs after being trespassed from the store hours earlier.

Jorge Isaac Cruz-Garcia was charged with trespassing at the store, located at 15877 E. Highway 40. He was back at the store at around 9 p.m. after being issued a trespass warning at 6:15 p.m.

Marion County Jail records show Cruz-Garcia has been arrested nine times since 2016, and he spent much of the second half of 2020 behind bars. He was arrested Aug. 18 after he walked out of a RaceTrac in Belleview without paying for the beer he picked up. Cruz was also charged with trespass after warning Sept. 30 and again on Nov. 14. He spent at least a month in jail after each arrest.

Cruz-Garcia is being held on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on Feb. 9.
