An Ocala woman was caught with drugs in her car almost exactly a month after being charged with DUI when she went the wrong way on a divided highway.
Katherine Stacy Waterhouse, 43, of 3710 SW 147th Lane, was charged early Thursday with felony possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, and violating the bond for her DUI arrest on Dec. 6.
At around 1:45 a.m., a Marion County sheriff’s deputy ran a license tag check on a black 2004 Dodge pickup truck, which showed the registered owner – Waterhouse – had a suspended license. The deputy conducted a traffic stop along the 5400 block of NE 35th Street, according to the sheriff’s office report.
Asked for her driver’s license, Waterhouse gave the deputy the uniform traffic citation given to her during her Dec. 6 arrest. The citation clearly stated Waterhouse’s license was suspended and the citation would serve as a temporary license for 10 days from the date it was issued, the report said.
The deputy confirmed Waterhouse’s license was suspended through teletype and placed her under arrest. While conducting an inventory search of the pickup, the deputy found a clear plastic bag containing a white powder-like substance under the driver’s seat, according to the report.
The white powder-like substance tested positive for Fentanyl. The total weight of the bag and Fentanyl was 1.5 grams, the report said.
Waterhouse was taken to the Marion County Jail. She’s being held on $4,000 bond and is due in Marion County Court on Feb. 9.
