Unveiling of refurbished Clockwork Fury statue postponed until Jan. 28

The Horse Fever 20/20 committee has postponed Tuesday’s unveiling of a refurbished iconic member of the 2010 Horse Fever herd.

Clockwork Fury

Clockwork Fury, by local artist Mark Hershberger, will now be unveiled Thursday, Jan. 28 at 4 p.m. by the Horse Fever 20/20 committee at the Marion Cultural Alliance Brick City Art Gallery, located at 23 S.W. Broadway St. in Ocala. The well-known horse statue was originally scheduled to be unveiled at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12.

Clockwork Fury was created for the 2010 Horse Fever herd and was purchased at auction by Brent and Crystal Fernung, owners of Journeyman Stud. The life-sized horse has been standing as the ambassador for the Fernung’s Thoroughbred farm since then and has been photographed by visitors and clients from all over the world. Hershberger’s refurbished Clockwork Fury features 2021 technology.

In recognition of the difficulties for non-profits because of COVID-19, Journeyman Stud is offering Clockwork Fury for unique auction at the March Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s Select 2-year-old-in-training sale. Monies raised will benefit the Florida Thoroughbred Racing Foundation and youth scholarship programs.
