Victim’s boyfriend helps nail Anthony man on battery charge

Craig Wesley Harrold

A 29-year-old Anthony man was arrested on a domestic battery charge Thursday after his accuser texted her boyfriend about what happened, and he called 911.

In the text, the victim told her boyfriend she and Craig Wesley Harrold were arguing and that she was “pushed.” The boyfriend called law enforcement at that point, and a Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to the incident location.

The victim told the deputy she and Harrold were arguing and he pushed her on the shoulder near her bedroom door. She said she was hurt and did not need medical assistance. The victim showed the deputy the text message she sent to her boyfriend saying she was arguing with Harrold and was “pushed” by him, according to the sheriff’s office report.

After being read his Miranda warning, Harrold admitted he and the victim were arguing but he denied pushing her. Asked why the victim told her boyfriend she was pushed if she wasn’t, Harrold didn’t have an answer. Harrold was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released Saturday on $500 bond. He’s due to appear in Marion County Court on Feb. 17.
