City hosting ‘Hidden Figures’ screening at Webb Field to celebrate Black History Month

The City of Ocala is hosting a special screening of the movie “Hidden Figures” at Webb Field later this month to celebrate Black History Month.

The Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will host the event on Friday, Feb. 26, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the field (located at 1501 W. Silver Springs Blvd). All are welcome and those who attend are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for the viewing.

The movie follows the lives of three African-American women instrumental in NASA’s mission to send astronaut John Glenn into orbit.

As a reminder, all city events are subject to postponement or cancellation based on the current recommendations and guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
