Marion sheriff searching for thieves connected to car burglaries and recent shooting

Marion County sheriff’s detectives are seeking help in identifying vehicle burglars involved in a recent shooting.

Marion County sheriff’s detectives are searching for the bandits pictured above, who are wanted in connection with several vehicle burglaries and a recent shooting.

On Feb. 10, sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting near the 1100 block of NE 51st Place. The victim advised he attempted to confront one of the criminals burglarizing his vehicle but the other one shot at him from the roadway. Multiple bullets hit the victim’s truck and home, even entering laundry room inside the residence, a report states.

Several other vehicle burglaries happened during the same time frame in the Summer Brook community off of N.E. Jacksonville Road. Firearms were stolen from unlocked vehicles during that incident, the report says.

The following day, the same thieves returned to Summer Brook and broke into some of the same victims’ vehicles from the night before. Another firearm was stolen from an unlocked vehicle during the incident.

Detectives believe the two criminals also are responsible for many other vehicle burglaries in the area of N.E. Jacksonville Road and between NW 35th Street and Hwy.326 on W. Anthony Road. Anyone with information about the crimes or the suspects is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (352) 732-9111.
