Ocala man jailed over semi-automatic rifle in vehicle

Ketrick Davilsaint

A 24-year-old Ocala man who was adjudicated as a delinquent for armed robbery when he was 16 was arrested Sunday when a loaded semi-automatic rifle was found in his vehicle.

Ketrick Davilsaint, of 1421 SW 27th Ave #1909, was charged with possession of a weapon by a Florida delinquent (adult felony) after being pulled over when on NW 9th Street for having his license plate obscured by two layers of plate tint. Davilsait was adjudicated as a delinquent in December 2016 for robbery with a firearm and has since been arrested on burglary, battery and weapons charges, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office report.

While Davilsaint was being cited for the traffic violation, a sheriff’s office K9 unit responded and the dog, “Diesel,” gave a positive alert on the vehicle. During a search, the deputy found a black semi-automatic rifle on the back floorboard. It had a full 60-round drum magazine attached to it with one .223 round chambered, the report said.

Davilsaint was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released Tuesday on $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on March 23.
