An Ocala man was arrested recently after he was found passed out in a vehicle at a Belleview minimart.
The vehicle, a white Pontiac with an expired license tag that was identified as being involved in a domestic dispute in Ocklawaha, was parked at the Circle K at 7950 County Road 25. Deputies observed 41-year-old Nicholas James Tull in the driver’s seat and noted that he appeared to be unconscious.
A sheriff’s master sergeant observed indicators of impairment, including dilated pupils. The sergeant invited Tull to participate in field sobriety exercises, which he agreed to do. But he was unable to complete them “due to his level of impairment” and was placed under arrest.
Tull, who lives at 2620 S.E. 67th St., Lot 6 in Ocala, was transported to the Marion County Jail, where he refused to provide a urine sample. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and released on $1,000 bond. He is due in a Marion County courtroom on April 9 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charge, jail records show.
