Ocala man accused of biting cousin during argument

Marlin Andrew Lake

A 54-year-old Ocala man was arrested after he allegedly bit his cousin several times during a recent argument.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy he returned to the residence where he lives with Marlin Andrew Lake and found Lake to be drunk and argumentative. He said Lake becomes very aggressive when he drinks, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said he and Lake argued as they went from the house into the garage. He said Lake bent down and bit the inside of the victim’s right hand, breaking the skin and leaving a bite mark. The victim said he slapped Lake on the left side of his face to break himself free, the report said.

The victim said he and Lake fell to the ground and Lake continued to bite him on top of his head and in the left eye area. The victim had bite marks on the left side of his forehead and eye area. The deputy was unable to see the marks on the victim’s head through his hair, but he did observe there was blood, according to the report.

The deputy then spoke with Lake, who was stumbling and yelling the deputy could take him to jail. Lake also said he didn’t want to press charges against his cousin and placed his hands behind his back, the report said.

Lake was charged with simple battery and taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was held on $1,500 bond. Lake will appear in court on May 4.
