Ocala Civic Theatre offering free shows for Marion County Schools employees

The Ocala Civic Theatre is offering a pair of complimentary tickets to “Talley’s Folly” to all Marion County Public Schools educators and employees.

Live on stage through March 21, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Lanford Wilson tells the story of two very stubborn – and very different – kindred spirits.

In 1944, Matt Friedman is sure that Sally Talley is the girl for him and shows up at her family’s farm in Missouri on the night of Independence Day  to convince her. But Sally has her own secrets and it’s going to take a lot of moonlight magic – and all of Matt’s charm – to change her mind.

Talley’s Folly also is also the first production featured in “It’s Lit,” the theatre’s new literacy initiative for high school and college students.

Advance reservations are required. The offer is good for any performance of “Talley’s Folly,” evening or afternoon. Call the box office at (352) 236-2274 to reserve seats.

Those attending must let the box office staff know at the time of booking their reservation that they are taking advantage of the Teachers for Talley’s offer. Offer is subject to availability based on limited seating.

Those taking advantage of the offer must show a valid work ID to get the complimentary tickets. Seating is socially distanced and masks are required at all times.
