Sandra Lee Seibert Payne, 73, of Ocala, passed away peacefully April 7, 2021, surrounded by family after a sudden illness. Sandra was born in Jacksonville, FL on December 24, 1947. She grew up in Ocala and earned a Master’s degree from Florida State University. She studied a year in Florence, Italy, and served as a recreational advisor in Korea with the US Army Special Services. She married in 1971 and had four children, raised in Naples, FL.
Through these experiences, she grew to love travel, education, and serving others. Her faith in God shined brightly and she sought His wisdom in all things. Visiting grandchildren kept her young at heart, leading adventures in the great outdoors, sparking creativity and imagination along the way.
Sandra is preceded in death by father Duane Seibert and daughter Rebecca Payne. She is survived by mother Margie Seibert, siblings Grant Seibert (Mary) and Nancy Rowand (Ralph), children Melissa Stueve (Jon), Richard Payne (Katie) and Emily Smith (Luke), grandchildren (Juliana, Jack, Eliza, James, Margaret, Lilah, Elwood).
A celebration of life will be held April 10 at 11:00 am at Central Church of Christ in Ocala. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Sandra’s memory to Hospice of Marion County.
