A 22-year-old Ocala woman who admitted to shoving a man while he was trying to leave her said she did it out of frustration and because he was saying “hurtful things” to her.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that he and Kaylee Marie Thompson got into an argument Sunday night and he told her he didn’t want to stay there anymore. He said grabbed his tools and a firearm from inside the residence and placed them in his truck, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said he tried to walk back inside the house through the garage door when Thompson pushed him and then held onto him because she didn’t want him to leave. He said he pushed Thompson to get her off him and he left the residence, the report said.

The victim said he got into his vehicle and was trying to leave the property when Thompson stopped him by standing in front of the vehicle. The deputy observed Thompson standing in front of the vehicle, with the victim in the driver’s seat, when he arrived at the incident location, according to the report.

Thompson told the deputy she and the victim were in a verbal altercation. She said she pushed the victim, but it was a “frustrated push.” Thompson said she pushed him because he was saying “hurtful things” to her, the report said.

Thompson was charged with simple domestic battery and taken the Marion County Jail, where she remained held Tuesday on $500 bond. Thompson is due in Marion County Court on May 12.
