Marion sheriff searching for bandit who ripped off groceries from Publix grocery store

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a woman accused of shoplifting from a local Publix grocery store.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies are searching for the woman pictured above, who is accused of stealing $100 in groceries from a local Publix store.

The woman shown above was caught on an extremely clear video surveillance camera. She is accused of selecting a reusable shopping bag from the rack at the Canopy Oaks grocery store, located on S.W. Hwy. 200, and filling it with close to $100 in items. She then left the store without paying for any of the items, a sheriff’s office report states.

When she was confronted by an employee, the woman hopped into the white Ford pickup truck she was driving and fled from the parking lot. Anyone with information about the crime or the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (352) 732-9111.
