A New York man living in Ocala was arrested recently after a victim claimed he pushed her down and grabbed her during an argument.
The female victim reported that 25-year-old Khalif Abdul-Rahman Davis got into a confrontation with another male. She said Davis shouted, “I am going to knock you out” several times, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office report states.
The male victim claimed he saw Davis strike the female victim in what appeared to be her head and the door was then closed. He said he opened the door in an effort to help the female victim and Davis started swinging a large candlestick at him and it struck him the in the hand, the report says.
The female victim claimed Davis pushed her down multiple times. She also claimed abuse was an ongoing issue, the report says.
Davis admitted that there has been an ongoing issue for the past five years and said the most recent incident started because the female victim bumped him in the hallway. He said he had a video of the victim with a pole coming at him. Deputies reviewed the video but reported the only audio they could hear was Davis saying multiple times, “Do it, I’ll knock you out in self-defense,” the report says.
After being read his rights, Davis refused to continue speaking with deputies. He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with simple battery and domestic battery. He was held on no bond and is due in court May 12 at 8 a.m., jail records show.
