An Ocala man found himself behind bars Wednesday when a Marion County sheriff’s K-9 deputy stopped by his residence to perform a well-being check.

While the deputy was at 61-year-old Page Pendleton Robinson’s residence on S.W. 102nd Place, he noticed a motorcycle on the back porch with its ignition wires sticking out.

The deputy conducted an investigation and determined that Robinson had stolen the motorcycle and a license plate he had attached to it. Robinson was then placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail. He was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and held on $50,000 bond. He’s due in court May 18 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charge, jail records show.
