An Ocala man was arrested recently after a woman claimed he pushed her to the ground because she wouldn’t go home with him.
The victim said she went to a local bar with 53-year-old Mark McKeon and after becoming upset with her, he left in his own vehicle and she went to a different bar. She said McKeon showed up at that bar later in the evening and “got into her face and body bumped her.” She said he was still upset because she wouldn’t go home with him and he “berated” her for several minutes before leaving, a sheriff’s office report states.
The victim said she and friend later returned to the residence where McKeon lives to sleep for the night. She said he entered the room and was still upset with her, so she went into another bedroom and he pushed her onto a mattress. She said she went into a hallway and McKeon pushed her with enough force to cause her to fall and slide across the floor, the report says.
Deputies noted that the victim had a bright red scratch on her left elbow bruising on her right elbow and slight swelling on her left palm. The victim said the injuries were the result of McKeon pushing her down, the report says.
After being read his rights, McKeon refused to speak with deputies. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with domestic battery. He was released on $500 bond and is due in court May 12 at 1 p.m., jail records show.
