A convicted felon from Ocala had a loaded handgun under his seat when he was pulled over for driving with a suspended license last week in the Lowe’s parking lot.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy recognized 25-year-old Henry Antwan Boger Jr., 5420 SE 24th Lane Unit D, as someone who did not have a valid driver’s license when driving on SW 35th Terrace on April 19.

Boger pulled into the parking lot of the store, located at 3535 SW 36 th Avenue, and went inside the store. Deputies stopped him when he came out of the store, according to the report.

A computer check showed Boger has multiple suspensions and was labeled a “habitual offender.” An inventory search of his vehicle turned up a black 9mm Glock handgun with a full magazine and one round in the chamber, the report said.

Boger, who was convicted of felony possession of controlled substances in 2018, told deputies he thought his license was valid and he didn’t know anything about the gun under his seat, according to the report.

Boger was charged with driving with a suspended license (habitual offender), possession of a concealed weapon without a permit, and possession of a firearm by a convicted Florida felon. He was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released the next day on $6,000 bond.
