An Ocala man was charged with driving with a suspended license for the third time this year after he was pulled over recently on W. Silver Springs Boulevard.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy ran the tag on a black Mercedes and found out the registered owner did not have a valid license, so he conducted a traffic stop. The deputy spoke with the driver – Roosevelt Lewis, 54, of 1215 NW 15th Avenue – who said he didn’t have his license and knew it was suspended for failing to pay a fine, according to the sheriff’s office report.

A computer search of Lewis driving history showed he was found guilty of driving with a suspended license on Feb. 22 in Marion County and was charged again for the same offense on April 9.

Lewis was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released on $1,000 bond.
