An Ocklawaha woman was arrested recently after threatening to fight people at a local bar.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to Paradise Bar and Lounge at 4596 S.E. Maricamp Rd. in Ocala and located an off-duty deputy who said he had been at the bar when 24-year-old Michaela Renee Matheney started grabbing him. He said Matheney exited the bar and started yelling, then attempted to run back inside several times to fight customers, the report says.

The off-duty deputy said he contacted the sheriff’s office for help and then attempted to separate Matheney so she wouldn’t attack customers. He said she attempted to walk into Maricamp Road but then sat in nearby grass because he wouldn’t let her enter the roadway, the report says.

Deputies made contact with Matheney, who continued to yell at everyone around her. Deputies noted that she appeared “very intoxicated” and she stated that she was a “drunk white girl.” She then ran toward the off-duty deputy and several others in an aggressive manner, causing them to retreat to avoid being hit, the report says.

Matheney continued to yell, causing several customers to come outside the bar to see what was happening. She said she would leave with her mother, then stood up and ran toward the door while threatening to “beat Erin’s ass.” She was escorted to her mother’s vehicle to leave the bar but continued yelling, “I’m going to beat his ass, too.” She then exited her mother’s vehicle in an aggressive manner and tried to return to the bar, which caused more customers to come outside because of the commotion, according to the report.

Matheney, who lives in the 18400 block of S.E. 90th Street in Ocklawaha, was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with disorderly intoxication. She was released on her own recognizance and is due in court May 19 at 1 p.m., jail records show.
