Ocala firefighters extricate motorist after rollover crash on S.R. 40

One person was injured and had to be extricated from a vehicle that flipped over during a crash in Ocala on Wednesday.

Firefighters from Ocala Fire Rescue extricated an injured motorist from a vehicle that flipped onto its roof Wednesday morning on Silver Springs Boulevard.

Crews from Ocala Fire Rescue responded to the 9 a.m. crash in the 1500 block of E. Silver Springs Boulevard. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a silver compact vehicle on its roof with its driver trapped inside. A white pickup truck with minimal damage was parked behind the silver vehicle, a report states.

Ocala firefighters were assisted by crews from Marion County Fire Rescue and Ocala Police officers as they worked to remove the injured driver. They used wooden wedges to stabilize the heavily damaged vehicle and were able to successfully extricate the driver through passenger-side window for transport to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported.
