An Ocala woman was arrested after a victim and his friend claimed she pointed a gun and threatened them.
According to the victim, he and another friend went into the house where he lives on May 23 and while there, they were approached by 59-year-old Rebecca Wood. The victim claimed while they were a distance away, Wood stated she would shoot them while pointing a tan pistol in their direction, according to the sheriff’s report.
According to Wood, when she woke up and checked her camera she discovered someone going into her brother and sister-in-law’s home across the street. Wood confirmed she told the victim and his friend to leave but denied ever having a firearm with her, according to the report.
Officers say that video surveillance from the home security system showed Wood holding a handgun in her right hand as she was following the two juveniles off the porch, according to the report.
Wood was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and was placed under arrest. She was transported to the Marion County Jail and her bond was set at $2,000.
