An Ocala woman claimed her man friend pushed her and choked her unconscious for nearly ten seconds during an argument.
A Marion County Sheriff’s deputy responded to Pine Course Pass on June 7 in reference to the domestic disturbance. The victim was found crying and a deputy immediately noticed a fresh red mark on her neck, according to the sheriff’s report.

The victim said she could not handle the physical altercations anymore and believes they have escalated. The victim claimed it was not the first time she and 22-year-old Johnny Sequina got into an argument and Sequina has put his hands on her, according to the report.
The victim reported on June 7, Sequina came home and they immediately started arguing. The victim claimed he pushed her on the couch by her neck and believed he held her down for nearly ten seconds. The victim claimed she could not breathe at the time, the report stated.
During the investigation, Sequina returned to the incident location and he claimed he came home to the victim yelling at him and when he said he was leaving, she started hitting him. Sequina admitted to pushing her but did not remember where his hands went. He claimed she may have put the marks on her neck, according to the report.
Sequina was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail. He was booked on June 7 with a bond set at $2,000. He was charged with battery by strangulation and a court date is set for July 13 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
