Dorothy Deming, age 83, of Ocala, FL and formerly of Unionville, MI, passed away on the evening of June 7, 2021 surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born March 6, 1938 in Romulus, MI to the late Howard Kenneth and Dorothy Elizabeth Provey.
Dorothy was a kind hearted determined woman; loving mother and grandmother who spoiled her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She was sweet with an extra side of spunk. She was an awesome cook, loved dancing, gardening & the outdoors, as well as traveling, and watching sunsets.
She had a passion for serving others and worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years as a Chef/Kitchen Manager. She worked in several restaurants all over the thumb of Michigan throughout her career. However, her cooking career was cut short due to an illness that left her wheelchair bound. She went on to be a “Grandmother” in the school system, hugging as many little ones as she could. There was never any dust under her wheels. Being with her children and grandchildren were the highlight of her day.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Strieter (Keith), Sherry Petrowski (Andy), Michelle Proper (Kevin);Â son, Jamie Katshor (Missy); step-children, April Kingsbury (Bruce), Steve Deming (Linda), Jimmy Deming, Stacy Deming; Her Partner Bob Richards and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; her Brother Buster and Sister Jeanie, her daughter, Lisa Archibald; step-sons, Jason Deming & Mike Katshor; son-in-law, David Hahn & Grandson Nathan Hahn & Great-grandson Cody Austin.
Memorial Service to be held in Michigan at a later date.
